Phosphor bronze Materials
About us
Waht Is Phosphor bronze
Phosphor bronze, also known as tin bronze, is an alloy of copper containing 0.5-11% tin and 0.01-0.35% phosphorus. The tin component enhances the alloy’s corrosion resistance and strength, while the phosphorus improves wear resistance and stiffness. Phosphor bronze is renowned for its excellent spring qualities, high fatigue resistance, exceptional formability, solderability, and outstanding corrosion resistance. It is primarily used in electrical products but also finds applications in corrosion-resistant bellows, diaphragms, and spring washers. The phosphor bronzes are classified under UNS C50100 to C54200.
Leaded phosphor bronzes offer a combination of good strength, fatigue resistance, machinability, high wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. These properties make them ideal for applications such as sleeve bearings, thrust washers, and cam followers. They are classified under UNS C53400 to C54400.
